formed from Sophia Herzog, Silver & bronze Medalist, 2x world champ & record holder Breast stroke

I created three Figures in Fabric Sculptures molded from Paralympic athletes for the U.S. Olympic & Paralympic Training Center Visitor Center, Colorado Springs in 2019. These elite athletes pursued, participated, and medaled in Tokyo Paralympics 2021. The purpose of this exhibit is to show what is possible in life for persons who have disabilities when allowed opportunities, and create awareness for the U.S. Paralympic program. The USOP has purchased this permanent exhibit, however, there is an opportunity for you or your company to support the program through sponsorship of this highly visited display. Celebrating the ADA’s 30th Anniversary

JCK w Art Lo Rez NDS_1642#6.jpg

Molded from Jennifer Keelan-Chaffins, disabilities activist and leading educator & proponent of the Americans with Disabilities Act.

ALL THE WAY TO FREEDOM is a sculpture that celebrates Americans with disabilities, honors the ADA during its 30th year (2020), and highlights the work yet to be done. It’s formed from Jennifer Keelan-Chaffins, a disabilities activist since childhood, who at 8 years old participated in the momentous Capitol Crawl protest. Colorado Ballet

Molded from posed Colorado Ballet dancers for exhibit at The Armstrong Center for Dance.

One of my favorite projects was making art with Colorado Ballet dancers! These dancers love making art of many kinds and always give their very best effort. Each art-forming session is like orchestrating a momentary performance – design, timing, technique, and teamwork all come into play. The resulting sculptures convey a very intimate connection to the ideal spirit of our humanity.

Conversations

Inspired by Social Dissidence.

I am intrigued by opposing points of view. It opens my mind to understand what drives social disunion and how we can overcome the fear and misunderstanding behind it. In turn, I feel compelled to make and share art from ideas generated by these conversations. It's fascinating to hear a variety of responses to these individual works of art. We have a strong, instinctive tendency to see through the eyes of our individual experience and what we believe; I want my art to help people see with different eyes.
