Goals for My Art Practice
My signature art form presents unique opportunities. Formed directly from the person, my sculptures are more intimate and tangible than a typical sculptor’s remote rendition of a figure. The engagement of fabric also lends a more artistic, expressionistic result than a plaster or resin body casting.
Likewise, seeing my sculptures in person is more like being in the live presence of someone. Through exhibitions, I want to share the stories and feelings of different communities and people by involving them as the models and collaborators in the design. My exhibits would include combined figures, murals, and fantastical movement. Sales of sculpture replicas and pendants could also raise funds for the model participants or the cause.
I’d also like to involve a person of renown who can attract broad attention to a cause. When people see, hold or wear that person’s sculpture, they are in touch with someone they admire and follow.
Lastly, I want to explore, develop, and push my art form. I am passionate about making a greater impact visually and spiritually, through my art.
