Refuge is a shimmering, flowing fabric sculpture merged onto a painted canvas. It was my first fabric sculpture to be molded directly from a live model. My formula was lacking quickness and solidity at that time, but it’s subsequent collapse resulted in a dramatic, captivating effect of movement, form, and emotion.
